Two siblings filed a lawsuit Tuesday against a group home owner saying that employee negligence contributed to the death of their developmentally disabled brother in December. The lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court claims that Leeda Services of Illinois Inc. knew Maurice Ross was prone to overstuffing his mouth when eating on Dec. 8, 2011, when employees at the Humboldt Park group home taking care of him left him to eat unattended. Ross died from asphyxiation as a result of putting too many hot dog buns in his mouth that day, according to the lawsuit.
