Six students crowd into a tiny classroom at Sale Specialist School's Raymond Street campus.
With all the equipment needed to help keep disabled students ready to learn, including wheelchairs, walkers, and tables of varying heights, classrooms fills up very quickly.
School council president Elaine Fiddelaers points to a doorway leading to what used to be the teachers office space, but is now used as a storage facility. The school had to purchase a shipping container, which sits outside the front of the school, to store other key learning equipment.
"Other schools get gymnasiums and we get a shipping container - which we had to buy ourselves," Elaine says.
