WeComply, Inc., a leader in web-based ethics and compliance training for corporate employees, has announced its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II course. This course provides a comprehensive guide to Title II of the ADA that will help state and local governments understand and comply with their obligations to appropriately serve and include people with disabilities.
The ADA Title II course provides an overview of the history of the ADA, the ADA's legal framework, and Title II coverage and enforcement. Topics covered in the course include providing non-discriminatory services, equal program access, integrated settings, effective communication practices, and the construction and alteration of facilities. In addition, the course also covers modifying policies and procedures, eliminating physical barriers, reviewing program requirements, appropriate burdens and technical assistance.
“Under ADA Title II state and local governments are required to provide access to activities and services in ways that do not discriminate against people with disabilities,” said Mike Pallatta, WeComply CEO. “The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) enforces these requirements by surveying state and local government facilities and programs nationwide through its Project Civic Action initiative. WeComply’s ADA Title II course is designed to provide government workers with the training they need to help their communities meet these requirements.”
